kristina + kyle’s story

“Kyle and I met at a nightclub in Boston on St. Patty’s Day 2013 where I was celebrating my birthday with some friends. As soon as I saw him, I just knew. We exchanged numbers and have talked every day since. After a few years of dating long distance, I decided to move back to Boston.

Over the next 4-5 years we watched our son, Xavier, grow from a sweet boy to an amazing young man, we adopted our rescue pup, Dexter, we enjoyed several concerts, and went on numerous adventures.

And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Kyle proposed NYE 2019! It was the most wonderful surprise! We chose New Orleans for our destination wedding because we absolutely fell in love with the city. We wanted to share this one of a kind culture and energy with all of our loved ones.”

For Kristina: “It’s a tie between our first look and my father walking me down the aisle. Kyle’s reaction when he saw me for the first look was the sweetest thing, and it helped calm my nerves. But walking down the aisle and seeing all of our family and friends was beyond heartwarming. I felt so lucky in both of these moments.”

For Kyle: “For me, it is the first look. After all the anticipation, finally seeing how beautiful Krissie looked in her dress, I couldn’t help but cry. And then talking with each other while we took our time walking through the French Quarter to the venue was truly memorable.”

”The Krupnikas, Bread, and Salt Blessing is a long cherished Lithuanian wedding tradition which has been passed down through the centuries. It symbolizes the union of the bride and groom and their families. The Lithuanian liquor for the favors and the raguolis, a traditional wedding cake, were provided by our very good family friends,The Liudzius’.”

”Kyle and I are passionate about animal rescue,” shares Kristina, “and wanted to incorporate that into our special day by naming the tables after our family rescue pets and a few of our favorite foster dogs.”

Kristina and Kyle’s rescue dog, Dexter, made an appearance at the wedding cake table!

The reception ended with a Second Line lead by Young Fellaz Brass Band from the Riverview Room back to the couple’s hotel on Canal Street.
