THE 2015 SOMETHING BLUE BRIDAL EVENT: RECAP

On February 25th, 2015 brides from New Orleans and beyond braved the cold and attended New Orleans Weddings Magazine’s “Something Blue” Bridal Event at the newly renovated Club XLIV at Champions Square. Upon arrival, brides had a chance to walk the blue carpet, and check out a gorgeous display of gowns from several local bridal salons. It was hard not to fall in love at first sight! Each bride also received a swag bag with goodies from our exhibitors and the brand new Spring Issue of New Orleans Weddings Magazine as they entered!

Once inside Club XLIV, which had been beautifully styled by Wink Design & Events with florals provided by NOLA Flora, candle decor by Firefly Ambiance Candles & Decor and rentals by Event Rental, brides had the chance to enjoy the musical entertainment of the Phunky Monkeys. Guests also watched as live event painter Christopher Turner of Art by Christopher Turner captured the show on canvas before their very eyes!

Brides and grooms had the chance to mix and mingle with many potential vendors, all in one evening under one roof, making their wedding planning much easier. Not to mention, several generous vendors offered fabulous door prizes!

Delicious samplings were everywhere, with catering selections from Club XLIV, Tomato Basil Soup from Pigeon Caterers, plus “Black and Blue Shrimp” from Liberty’s Kitchen, and let’s not forget the sweet treats like wedding cake bites from Gambino’s Bakery and treats from Southern Candy Makers.

Guests were also treated to a mini-design showcase of “Something Blue” inspired tables styled by NOLA Event Planners and It’s Your Time Events.

The evening came to close at 8:30pm, but not before the Phunky Monkeys led the guests in a Second Line, because that’s how we roll in New Orleans. We know our brides had a blast, as did our vendors. Here at New Orleans Weddings, we love having the chance to meet local brides in person, and give them an opportunity to do some “one stop shopping” while having a great time!

New Orleans Weddings Magazine produces two Bridal Events annually. N.O.W. events are memorable evenings of wedding planning that allow brides to mix and mingle with wedding professionals in a laid-back, yet elegant atmosphere. Inspiration is everywhere and N.O.W.
