their story

“Drake and I met in college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette when we were both staff members of an extended orientation program,” shares Carly. “After we returned from a weekend retreat, I asked him to be my date for an upcoming sorority event and the rest is history!” 

Five years later, Carly and Drake were on their family’s annual holiday bar crawl, stopping in at various New Orleans hotels to see the Christmas lights and sample cocktails. This particular time, the festivities started at a new location.

“We went to the rooftop bar of the Pontchartrain Hotel called Hot Tin that has a beautiful view of the city and the Superdome and he asked me if we should take a picture, and I said ‘of course,’” says Carly. “And then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.” 

Drake’s entire family was waiting downstairs at the hotel to celebrate with them and more family and friends joined in the fun at the next location. “It [was] the best crawl to date!” says Carly.

Carly and Drake’s first look was on a beautiful terrace with views on the New Orleans French Quarter. Afterwards, the wedding party and family joined the couple for portraits before the wedding ceremony.

Carly and Drake said their vows in a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Joseph’s Church on Tulane Avenue.

Carly and Drake hosted their classic New Orleans wedding reception at The Alexander Room.
