their story

Lance and Meredith first met in high school but lost touch when they both left for college. “We found out sometime in 2011 that his first wife’s family had the tickets next to ours in Tiger Stadium,” says Meredith. “Sadly, his first wife passed away 6 months after their daughter, Caroline, was born. He still remains close to her family and was in their seats with his older brother for the Georgia game in 2018, which is when we talked the entire game about [how] we had both been in Disney World a month before, about a week apart.”

“I was supposed to meet up with a friend after that game to watch the Astros play,” shares Meredith, “but I went with Lance instead to watch that game and get a drink. We’ve been together ever since.”

Lance proposed in the summer of 2020 at Meredith’s apartment. He was there to pick her up for their first dinner out at a restaurant since the pandemic started. Afterwards, the couple celebrated their engagement with their families at Ringside at Sullivan’s.

wedding dress details

Meredith added sleeves, made from lace used to make her mother’s wedding gown in 1982, to her Lazaro gown. She also wore her mother’s veil which her sister also wore for her wedding. Both sisters had their monograms sewn onto the veil.
