From Cabo to the Crescent City.

God was leaving nothing to chance when He made sure that Candice and Matt shared a cubicle at the local public accounting firm that they worked at. However, even though their conversations were at first shy and brief, the potential for romance grew until one day Candice got the courage to ask Matt out on a date. That first date cemented a love that would survive a long distance relationship, three moves and the adoption of their bulldog, Berkeley.

With an itinerary of pampering, a dash poetry by Williams Shakespeare and wine and dine experience, Matt proposed to Candice under a sky blazing with 4th of July fireworks.

Slipping the engagement ring on her finger with a “I told you I was going to marry you,” Matt was thankful to see love and joy on Candice’s face as she enthusiastically screamed, “Yes!”

“She was so loud, security from the hotel came to the room to see if everything was OK,” Matt says.

The couple decided to elope on the beach. Because Candice’s parents couldn’t be with her for the ceremony, she added personal touches so she could feel like they were there with her.

“It was important to me to include my parents—they are my two best friends, Candice said. “ Since my parents couldn’t be with me on my wedding day, I strung together a charm bracelet with several charms my mom and dad had given me over the years so that I could have them walk me down the aisle.

Saying “I Do” with the sounds of the waves in the background, Candice and Matt started the journey to make every day which each other the best days of their lives.

After their private beachfront ceremony, the couple would return to the place they met, New Orleans, to celebrate with family and friends with a “very New Orleans reception.”
