REAL WEDDING:: ALBERT “AY’JAE” PLACIDE III + COURTNEY BURL

THE PROPOSAL IN AY’JAE’S WORDS:

“The proposal was very casual. We just kind of agreed that we were the ones for each other and wanted to spend our lives together on Royal Street in New Orleans while antique browsing,” shares Ay’Jae. “The engagement was solidified on a helicopter ride over the beaches in Destin, Florida in June of 2016.”

“Our first look was a mix of emotions - being nervous, the anticipation of what each other’s suits looked like, and trying not to do the ugly cry,” shares Ay’Jae. “But when we saw each other we were like ‘umm you clean up very well’ with a huge smile on both our faces and we couldn't stop hugging.”

“The minute we walked in the building the staff was very professional, warm and inviting.” says Ay’Jae about the Audubon Tea Room where the ceremony and reception took place. “When we walked in we both felt like "this is it" from looking at the garden to the rotunda style of tea room. Simple yet elegant. I was not so over the top to where it took away from our event; it was like understated elegance."

The couple said their vows in front of 300 of their family and friends in a romantic candle-lit garden ceremony. “My Favorite part of my wedding day was saying my vows,” says Ay-Jae. “Our wedding was truly a dream come true!”

“When I walked in to the venue, I was taken by emotions. It was absolutely breathtaking and beautiful, and everything we planned and more! Floral de Leaf & Nola Event Planners did an absolutely beautiful job!” shares Ay’Jae.
