Adam and Amanda: A Long Distance Love Story

Adam and Amanda first met at a mutual friend’s house in college. Adam was visiting Baton Rouge from Georgia and Amanda was attending LSU… she was also dating someone else. They had an immediate connection and the two became close friends even while living two states away from each other. It didn’t take long for Amanda to realize that the guy she was dating didn’t make her feel at all the way that Adam did, so she broke it off with him and continued staying in touch with Adam through texts, skype and phone calls. They started dating a few months later when Adam returned to Baton Rouge to take Amanda to a sorority event.

For three years, Adam would spend a lot of time in the car driving down to Baton Rouge and Amanda got to know the Atlanta airport quite well. But the more they made time for one another, the more they both realized that their efforts were not really efforts at all.

“Once my life stopped becoming about me and started becoming about the choices I could make to put our relationship and spending time together first, I knew that we had something truly incredible.” – Amanda

On May 19, 2018, with careful preparations by KBCook Weddings in place, Adam and Amanda got married at St. Louis Cathedral, a New Orleans wedding landmark. It was even more special for the couple because Adam’s sister, her husband and Amanda’s father all sang at the ceremony. After the I Dos, the Kinfolk Brass Band led the traditional Second Line through the French Quarter to the Riverview Room, where Amanda and Adam partied the night away with 200 of their closest family and friends.
