Linda and Ty Nguyen: May 23, 2009

Ty and Linda met through a mutual friend while on a group date during Halloween. Linda and Ty dated for five years before, at the request of Linda’s mother who was dying from cancer, Ty rethought his plan to propose to Linda after the two had finished school and asked Linda to marry him on April 30, 2007, the very night Linda’s mother made the request. Then on May 19, 2007, Ty again kneeled down and proposed to Linda, this time in front of both of their families. Linda’s mother passed away a month after the couple’s engagement and Linda and Ty were happy that they were able to grant her mother’s last wish.

Ty and Linda both wanted a traditional Vietnamese wedding. They hired Wink Event Planning to help create and host this elaborate event. The theme was classic traditional with a modern twist. It was an all white wedding with accents of the silver and rhinestones to give a more modern edge. Blue ambient lighting and a custom lobo of Linda and Ty’s names by Event Rental created a modern and chic atmosphere.

On May 23, 2009 Linda and Ty began their traditional Vietnamese wedding with a Tea Ceremony. The Tea Ceremony began when Ty and his family arrived with traditional gifts in hand to ask for Linda’s hand in marriage. In the procession of the tea ceremony, Linda and Ty served tea to their parents and grandparents and gifts were presented from both sides of the families to get them started on their journey.

Immediately following the Tea Ceremony, the couple proceeded to Holy Name of Mary in Algiers for a traditional Catholic Ceremony.

Following the ceremony, Linda and Ty headed to the reception where a one hour cocktail hour took place and a nine course meal was served.

The flowers were designed for the reception by Les Deux Soeurs Les Deux Soeurs florist, who decorated each table with beautiful white orchids, tulips and hydrangea in tall cylindrical vases.

To enhance the overall look of the reception, Event Rental provided specialty table linens and special 5-foot rhinestone candelabra. Inside the candelabras were crystal draping’s and Les Deux Soeurs added orchids, calla lilies and tulips flowers to each arrangement.

The videographer, Silver Media, was there to capture all the emotions of each guest including Linda and Ty. Silver Media captured the traditional toasts offered by guests to the bride and groom as the couple visits each table at the reception.

John Ly Photography covered the wedding day photographs for Linda and Ty. Because the wedding took a more modern approach, the couple enjoyed how the photos John Ly took were fun, fresh and edgy. All the photos came out bold and with all the vibrant modern colors to help preserve Linda and Ty’s special day.

After dinner and toasting their guests, Linda and Ty enjoyed dancing the night away with their guests.
