REAL WEDDINGS:: DANIELLE + CHRIS {Must Be Doing Something Right}

It wasn’t necessarily love at first sight, but one of them was certainly doing something right to make sure the spark of love ignited.

One driving in from Memphis and the other taking a much needed break from physician assistance school in Baton Rouge, Chris and Danielle first met at a friend’s beach home. However, the introduction was brief when Chris realized that the University of Texas football game was not being televised on local TV. After a frenzied search for a bar that was airing the game, a few drinks and some requested advice about fantasy football, Chris and Danielle went from strangers to good friends to a great couple.

Waiting for the perfect moment, Chris held on to Danielle’s engagement ring for four months before he proposed.

“He wanted me to be surprised but he knew I had a hunch so anytime we had a trip, nice event or dinner, I would have been expecting it,” Danielle says.

It wasn’t until a fun night a retro arcade that Chris found his moment. After a three hours of ski ball and beer, they went to pick up a pizza on their way home. As Danielle turned to get the pizza, Chris was right behind her down on one knee. Needless to say, she was very surprised.

“He said that he kept thinking of the “perfect” moment and that he couldn’t think of anything better than spending a night with just the two of us having a blast together and he just couldn’t wait any longer to ask me to be his wife,” Danielle says. “I would take a night of arcade games, beer and pizza with him over just about anything in the world.”

Adding personal touches such as multi-tiered wedding king cake, a first look with their dogs and having flash tattoo station, Danielle and Chris had a beautiful beginning to their happily ever after.

“Nothing compares to that moment when you see his eyes light up as he looks at you in your wedding dress,” Danielle says. “Everything else falls away at that point and you know that nothing else matters because you are in love with someone who loves you back just as much.”
