These high school sweethearts became friends their freshman year and by the time they were Juniors they were officially a couple.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think Philip would propose to me in Rome, Italy in front of the breathtaking Trevi Fountain,” says Courtney, “but boy am I glad he did.” We arrived at this beautiful fountain, and I remember thinking to myself that I have never seen anything so gorgeous in my life.
As they walked down the steps, Courtney, coin in hand, closed her eyes, made a wish and threw it over her shoulder into the fountain. When she turned around from making her wish, Philip was down on one knee holding what Courtney describes as “the most beautiful ring with the biggest smile on his face.”

"Phil's wedding band is his Grandfather's- you can still see his grandparents engraved initials and wedding date on the inside of the ring."
A letter from Philip was delivered to Courtney's hotel room while she was getting ready. "I read it right before I went to see Phil for our first look," she shares.
"Our colors were fuchsia and deep purple. Ever since I was a little girl my favorite color has been pink, so naturally I wanted that to be one of my wedding colors."
Courtney's "something borrowed" was her Godmother's bracelet. "For my "something old," I wore Philip's grandmother's wedding ring on my right hand."
"One of our favorite moments from our wedding day was our first look. We were somewhat skeptical about having a first look, but now we are so glad we went through with it. It was so intimate and so special for us."
"The Deacon who married us is my Uncle Don. He has been a huge part of many moments of my life." - Courtney
"Everywhere you looked there were beautiful chandeliers, candles that illuminated up the entire space, and breathtaking flower arrangements creating a wedding that was oozing of romance and elegance." - Courtney
Publisher's note: We are absolutely in love with the courtyard fountain for Courtney and Philip's wedding! Courtney wanted her guests to "feel like they walked into a dream."
"we had our very own cocktail. It was called a Blitchtini! It was served off of the ice sculpture- All of our guests loved it!"
"The cake knife we cut our wedding cake with was from Oak Alley Plantation's original china- Philip's family owned and built the plantation, so having this heirloom was extremely special to us."
