Their home is in San Diego, but their hearts are in New Orleans, which is why Megan and Devin travelled 1,816.3 miles to have their dream wedding.
The couple met as neighbors—Devin was working as a registered nurse and Megan was finishing her degree at nursing school. After a year of dating, the pair made the decision to move to California with each other.
As their love for each other grew stronger, Devin realized he couldn’t live another day without Megan permanently by his side. Planning a surprise sailboat trip, Devin proposed to Megan with the sun setting on the Pacific as their background. The moment was made even more perfect when Megan said “yes!”
The couple knew that New Orleans was the only city they would be able to have the perfect wedding in.
Devin and Megan really wanted people to fall in love with New Orleans as much as they were. From a crawfish boil themed groom’s cake to touring New Orleans landmarks such as District Donuts, Court of Two Sisters and Frenchmen St., the couple immersed their guests in New Orleans culture.
“Having a New Orleans flair at the wedding was very important to me, ” Megan said. “Living in California makes it hard to see everyone often. It meant so much to us to have our family and friends there which is why we had the wedding in New Orleans and not San Diego.”
Exuding the warmth of the Southern Charm, Devin and Megan began their new adventure in their city of love.
